FAU professor joins Health foundation board

Palm Health Foundation has announced the appointment of Lisa Kirk Wiese to its board of trustees. Wiese, an associate professor at Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, joins the 18-member board overseeing the foundation’s mission to inspire and fund solutions for better health in Palm Beach County through community collaboration. Palm Health Foundation is Palm Beach County’s community foundation for health.

Gardens firm adds to marital, family law division

Nason Yeager Gerson Harris & Fumero, P.A., a full-service law firm, has announced that Christopher Jette has joined the firm’s marital and family law practice area as a shareholder. Jette handles a wide array of cases including divorce, child custody, support, visitation, domestic injunctions, prenuptial agreements, contempt proceedings, and juvenile dependency matters. Nason Yeager Gerson Harris & Fumero, P.A. is one of the oldest Florida-based law firms in the state.

Two members of county tourism group honored

Discover The Palm Beaches, the tourism marketing organization for Palm Beach County, recently announced that two team members have been selected for the 2024 Smart Women in Meetings Awards by Smart Meetings magazine. Kelly Cavers, chief sales officer, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, and Aly X. Fernandez, associate vice president of destination services was selected as an Industry Leader.

Albert Jewish Family Service names director of Mental Health First Aid

Courtney Marx was recently named director of Mental Health First Aid at Alpert Jewish Family Service. In this role, Marx will oversee the program, outreach, and its roll out to community groups, organizations, businesses and individuals across Palm Beach County. Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. This training provides skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to someone developing a mental health or substance use challenge and help connect them to the appropriate care. Alpert JFS originally introduced Mental Health First Aid in Palm Beach County in 2014.

Oxbridge Academy welcomes assistant head of school

Oxbridge Academy has appointed John Perlette to assistant head of school. “We are thrilled to welcome John Perlette as the new assistant head of school,” says Oxbridge Academy head of school Ralph Maurer. Oxbridge Academy is the premier independent, co-educational college-preparatory school for grades 6-12 in West Palm Beach.

Palm Beach Gardens firm appoints COO

TBC Corporation, a leader in the mobility industry and one of North America’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires through wholesale and franchise operations, has appointed Bill Schafer to the role of chief operating officer for TBC Brands and TBC International. Prior to this position with TBC, Schafer spent more than 30 years in various leadership roles with TBC Corporation shareholder Michelin.

West Palm Beach DDA adds board member

The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority recently appointed Peter Cruise to its board of directors. The appointment was made by West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James. Cruise is a downtown resident, long-time board member of the West Palm Beach Downtown Neighborhood Association, Air Force veteran and affiliate associate professor and founding executive director of the LeRoy Collins Public Ethics Academy at Florida Atlantic University.

Medical firm adds vice president, product management director

Accelus, a Palm Beach Gardens-based, privately-held medical technology company committed to becoming the global market leader in expandable spinal implant technologies has added Rob German as vice president of research and development and Luke Perkins as senior director of product management. Accelus is dedicated to enhancing surgical procedures and patient outcomes through innovative spinal solutions.
