Hello Kitty Releases ’70s Vintage-Inspired Special Anniversary Fashion Range
Sanrio’s popular Hello Kitty has received a special fashion collection with Beams Couture. Fans can purchase the likes of collectible plush toys, stylish bags and matching outfits in celebration of the character’s 50th anniversary.
Beams Couture recently released its 50th-anniversary collection with Hello Kitty that features tote and embroidered bags, plushies, a pochette and sweaters, all designed to evoke the early days of the popular kitten’s creation. The site emphasizes its vintage motifs and retro atmosphere, with images and a comment by the designer below.
Hello Kitty’s 50th-Anniversary Crocs for Kids and Adults Are the Ultimate Blend of Comfort & Cute
Hello Kitty’s 50th-anniversary Crocs collection represents the ultimate blend of comfort and cute, designed for both children and adults to enjoy.
Hello Kitty’s Newest Fashion Line Is Inspired by the Character’s 1970s Debut Look
The range is priced between approximately US$46-165 — the former for the Hello Kitty x Beams Couture / Hello Kitty stuffed animal, and the latter for the transparent sweater. The sweater is teased as providing a premium feel, with its red cuffs on the hem a notable highlight. The designer added on the range: “I put my heart into this design to commemorate the 50th anniversary of my beloved Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty has evolved in many ways over the past 50 years, but my favorite is Kitty from when she first debuted. I wanted to express the historical atmosphere of that time, so I created a lineup based on beige and red.” Customers can get three of each item per person.
Similar to the collections, while each company commemorates Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary with individual flair, all are united in honoring the popular kitten’s legacy. Runway Channel’s 10-brand Hello Kitty set contrasts Beams Couture’s high-end and narrow range, instead opting for a broader and much lower price point. While both emphasize a girly appeal, Forever 21’s new range caters to all genders and ages with an eye on summer and beachwear. Meanwhile, CBR’s exclusively reported BoxLunch floral collection is more geared to the current spring season.
Hello Kitty Releases Must-Have Official Kimono Plushie for Cherry Blossom Season
Sanrio’s Hello Kitty gets a new kimono plushie doll for spring, swapping her trademark red ribbon with one inspired by Japan’s cherry blossom season.
With the sheer number of Hello Kitty collaborations so far, it’s easy to forget that the entire year will commemorate Kitty White’s birth. Confirmed for later this year is JoyJolt’s limited-edition glassware collection. Meanwhile, anime fans look ahead to Sanrio’s voice actor project, starring Miyu Irino (Shoya Ishida in A Silent Voice), Takeo Otsuka (Aqua in Oshi no Ko) and more later this year.
