Equality Fashion Week is Coming to West Hollywood May 15-19 – WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events

Equality Fashion Week is coming to various locations throughout West Hollywood and Los Angeles from Wednesday, May 15, 2024, to Sunday, May 19, 2024. Co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, Equality Fashion Week is the first-established LGBTQ-focused Fashion Week in the region that showcases and celebrates area Queer and inclusive couturiers, emerging designers, models, performers, and other creative artists.

The event was founded in 2018 by creator, executive producer, designer, and Queer activist NiK Kacy to create opportunities and equity for Queer designers, models, brands, and small businesses that oftentimes do not have access to mainstream fashion weeks. The mission of Equality Fashion Week is to increase awareness, visibility, and support for the LGBTQ community, and create a space that honors Queer, Trans, Gender-expansive, and BIPOC fashion brands, models, performers, and designers.

Programming will include a range of events including a community kick-off event, two Queer market pop-up experiences in partnership with The Queer Mercado, a Runway Fashion Show, and a Summit at Fan Girl Café, which will emphasize education, empowerment, and enrichment. The Summit will feature panels and discussions on financial wellness and entrepreneurship, the intersectionality of Queer culture, art, fashion, media and entertainment, mental health, addiction services, and more.

Events during Equality Fashion Week will include:

• Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. – Opening Party: Couture, Cocktails, and Cuisines – bringing together queer-inclusive promoters to the iconic Sunset Strip. The event will take place at Hotel Ziggy, located at 8462 W. Sunset Boulevard.
• Thursday, May 16, 2024, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – E3 Summit – Addressing topics from financial wellness to mental health to queer culture intersectionality, gender exploration, and entrepreneurship. The event will be held at Fan Girl Café, located at 8157 Santa Monica Boulevard.
• Saturday, May 18, 2024, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Queer Market East in partnership with The Queer Mercado – Supporting LGBTQ+ small businesses and fostering economic empowerment, while bridging queer communities. The event will be held at East Los Angeles Civic Center, located at 4801 E. 3^rd Street in Los Angeles.
• Saturday, May 18, 2024 – Equality Fashion Week Runway Fashion Show, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and After-Party, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. – A groundbreaking showcase of inclusive designs and one of the most diverse groups of models on the runway, affirming Week’s commitment to inclusivity. The show will be held at The West Hollywood EDITION, located at 9040 W. Sunset Boulevard and the After-Party will take place at Hotel Ziggy, located at 8462 W. Sunset Boulevard.
• Sunday, May 19, 2024, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Queer Market West in partnership with The Queer Mercado – Supporting LGBTQ+ small businesses and fostering economic empowerment, while bridging queer communities. This event will take place in partnership with Pearl Pool Party featuring DJs and special performances at Hotel Ziggy, located at 8462 W. Sunset Boulevard.
