Fort Stevenson State Park celebrates 50th Anniversary with Guinness World Record attempt for s’mores making

Garrison, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Fort Stevenson State Park is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary with an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for most people making s’more at once!

A judge from Guinness World Records will be at the park to verify, record and confirm that more than 891 people which is the current record simultaneously make s’mores.

While the gates to the event open at 1:30 p.m., guests are asked to arrive early to allow time to check in. Also as an incentive to arrive early, the first 1,200 people will receive a 50th Anniversary roasting stick from Scheels.

Gates close at 2:45 p.m. and the attempt will start at 3:00 p.m.

The event is made to be fun for the whole family, and while participants need to be able to make their own s’mores, there will be a grassy spectator area where people with young children can watch.

All park entrance fees will be waived for the day, and restrooms and concessions will be available. Pets on leashes are allowed in the park, but not in the event area.
