Flash flooding impacts travel in parts of Winnebago County

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – Drivers in parts of Rockford, Loves Park and Machesney Park navigated flooded roads after storms moved through the area Tuesday afternoon.

Aaron Wilson caught video of flash flooding at Riverside and Latham on Rockford’s northwest side.

Tow trucks were called after a vehicle stalled in the area of Rockton Avenue and Whitman Street.

Viewers also report flooding in Machesney Park near Shore Drive and Saturn Street in Loves Park.

The National Weather Service reminds drivers to turn around and don’t drown when it comes to flooded roads.
