Perspective | Is this Drake-Kendrick beef taking low blows to new heights?
It’s hard to know when the smoke might clear in a rap beef this crisply charred, but musically, all was quiet between Drake and Kendrick Lamar on Tuesday afternoon. For how long, nobody knows, but everybody cares, and probably a little too much. Social media’s refractive powers have blown this millionaires’ quarrel so wildly out of proportion, it’s difficult to even want to get your arms around it. What’s really at stake in the battle of Goliath and Goliath? Maybe it’s best to revisit a little axiom that the late culture critic Greg Tate — who, amid all this, was posthumously awarded a Pulitzer Prize on Monday — posted on social media way back in 2015, when Meek Mill was first accusing Drake of using ghostwriters.
