Hyundai Duty Free forms strategic alliance with Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort

SOUTH KOREA. Hyundai Department Store Duty Free and Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort have announced a strategic partnership to promote local and outbound tourism.

Under this agreement, the South Korean travel retailer has rolled out shopping benefits and services to attract domestic and foreign customers visiting Inspire.

The signing of the agreement was held at Inspire in Incheon, with Hyundai Department Store Duty Free Executive Director Park Jang-seo and Inspire Chief Marketing Officer Michael Jensen in attendance.

Inspire is the first mega-resort opened by American company Mohegan in Asia and houses Korea’s largest casino. The property also features the country’s biggest interactive Media Art Exhibition, Le Space, comprising 18 unique exhibits within a 6,600sq m space.

The partners noted that about 1.2 million people have visited the resort since it opened in December.

The collaboration will see Inspire casino players enjoy an array of shopping benefits from Hyundai Department Store Duty Free. This includes a product reservation service, allowing a casino VIP customer to be on its priority list and among the first to purchase newly released products.

This service also includes a bespoke shopping experience for VIP customers, who will be assigned a personal shopper when they visit Hyundai Department Store Duty Free’s downtown and Incheon Airport locations.

In addition, visitors can enjoy the retailer’s Momentum Rewards programme, allowing them to exchange casino points for duty-free shop prepaid cards at a 1:1 ratio. At Inspire Reception, customers can redeem their points through the prepaid card, which can be used like cash at Hyundai Department Store Duty Free.

To celebrate this partnership, the partners have launched a promotional event, which runs until 30 June. Twenty domestic and foreign shoppers at Hyundai Department Store Duty Free’s online or in-store customers will win Inspire Resort accommodation vouchers through a lucky draw.

Hyundai Department Store Duty Free Executive Director Park Jang-seo said: “Through this MOU, we will be able to provide a variety of duty-free shopping services to customers visiting Inspire, Korea’s representative resort. We will continue to do our best to ensure that customers can enjoy more convenient and diverse duty-free shopping benefits in the future.” ✈
