Fredonia Makes Statement At Orange Bowl
FREDONIA — Ella Koopman threw for five touchdown passes as Fredonia shut out Southwestern 80-0 in Division 2 South flag football Wednesday evening at the Orange Bowl.
Koopman finished with 137 passing yards and also ran for 47 yards with an additional score.
Francesca Pucci ran for a team-high 99 yards and a score to go along with 28 receiving yards and a touchdown. Natalia DiPalma ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Makayla Tabone, Juliana Snyder, Madelyn Polhamus, Keiliany Diaz and Ashlynn Delcamp added receiving touchdowns for the Hillbillies.
Juliana Snyder had 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Emma Patterson added a rushing touchdown.
Defensively, Bryleigh Wicks had five flag pulls, two interceptions and another pass defended. Elizabeth Morris had two flag pulls and two sacks, while Paige Elliott had three interceptions, including one that she returned for a touchdown. Brianna Whitfield also intercepted a pass.
Fredonia led 54-0 at halftime.
