The comedy venue will be hosting three headlining comedians this weekend, featuring Kallan Reece (former Springs mayoral candidate), Jonny Bratsveen (Air Force veteran) and John Brown (podcast host) in “Triple Threat.” The comedians, based in Colorado, will bring their own sets and style for two nights of jokes.

“You can just expect a wild night,” Bratsveen said. “All three of us kind of have a different style, so you’re not gonna get three of the same comic.”

Colorado Springs-based Bratsveen is looking forward to performing once again at Loonees.

“It’s like the physical embodiment of comedy. You go there, it’s not some big fancy place where you feel like you have to wear a suit or anything like that. You can come there to have a beer, laugh. It’s almost like hanging out in your bedroom,” Bratsveen said. “It’s a very warm place.’”

Bratsveen, who has appeared on Comedy Central, began his comedic career fresh out of the Air Force. With no direction, he moved back home and started going to open mic nights. The rest is history.

“I’d been going to a bunch of open mics and watching a bunch of stand up. I was like, ‘You know, I think I can do that,’ as every young 21-year-old man does,” he said. “I finally got the courage to go up there and do it, and it’s been my addiction ever since.”

During his set, he’ll talk about funny observations in his life as a husband and father.

“It’s really just my observations of life,” he said. “It’s really more of a breakdown of who I am and my character flaws and why I think they’re funny.”

And like so many other comedians that perform in Colorado, he can’t wait to hear from the Springs crowd.

“I love telling jokes in Colorado Springs. The crowds out here in the city are probably the best crowds I’ve ever worked for, and I’ve been all over the place, but every time I’m on stage it feels at home — you guys are a very warm, receptive, diverse crowd,” Bratsveen said.
