‘Fashion Passion’: One of Wichita’s biggest fundraisers supports children with special needs

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – One of Wichita’s biggest fundraisers is set for Friday night, an event important for local families and its focus on supporting children with special needs.

Social services organization Rainbows United is putting on its “Fashion Passion” event to raise money for children and their families to obtain much-needed resources. The event gives Wichita area children like Demarcos a chance to enjoy all that life has to offer.

“Demarcos was born in 2013. We noticed for two years he was nonverbal,” said the boy’s mother, Yulesdy.

That’s when Yulesdy said, she decided to join Rainbows United.

“Rainbows has really supported Demarcos in ways that I can’t even explain,” she said. “We love rainbows.”

“Fashion Passion 2024″ on Friday night provides a special moment for children including Demarcos who will put their runway skills to the test, complete with stylish outfits, their music, and “all the lights, camera action,” organizers said.

Part of the fundraising event includes a raffle for the chance to win a 2024 Lexus. You can access that raffle here: TAKE A CHANCE FOR CHILDREN: WIN A LEXUS.
