City of Edgerton to get new major travel center, gas station off I-35

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A major travel center is coming soon to the Gardner-Edgerton community, and no, it’s not THAT one.

The City of Edgerton announced that Maverik will open one its first stores in the state of Kansas at Homestead Lane and 199th Street.

Maverik is known for its wide variety of food and drink options (hot and cold), and it will build a facility of about 6,000 square feet.

“We are extremely excited for Maverik to become a part of the Edgerton Community. With housing, industrial and commercial projects currently under development, this project provides just another example of the exciting growth Edgerton is contributing to the region,” says James Oltman, President of ElevateEdgerton!

Site work has already begun with vertical construction anticipated to begin in mid-2024, according to a release. The proposed plans are to have 14 gasoline fueling stations and 10 diesel fueling stations. A truck scale has also been proposed, per city documents.
