Crafting, Cake And Tiny Plastic Babies: How Chopova Lowena Threw A Fashion-Forward Baby Shower

“The baby shower was really about welcoming the babies into our world,” smiles Lowena-Irons. “I’ve found it quite scary, the idea of this personal side of my life and the business meshing together.”

Chopova – who gifted Lowena-Irons a 200-year-old intricately painted trunk from her home country of Bulgaria – adds: “We don’t really celebrate anything in our lives anymore… Laura has probably had one of the most unenjoyable pregnancies of all time, so I wanted this to be really celebratory, as I don’t think she is going to be giving birth again!”

Baby shower discussions can only lead to conversations about baby clothes, particularly when you consider that Chopova Lowena’s mini-me kids collection includes flame motif baby grows, vibrant toy-print dungarees and bunny motif fleeces. “We’ve probably got 100 baby grows!” laughs Chopova. “Two in every size that we’ve ever produced.”

Lowena-Irons smiles: “The babies are going to be very well-clothed. I don’t think I’m going to go matchy-matchy… dressing babies is surely one of the funnest things, and I’ve got double the amount of options! Let’s see how tired I am though,” she laughs.
