Have You Seen This? Fitness-focused kitty could be the perfect workout companion
THE GYM — It’s that time of year again. The time of year when I look back on what I’ve accomplished during the last year, and set a few goals for ways to improve in the future.
I’m not talking about New Year’s resolutions. I’m talking about my annual attempt to recommit to the resolutions I made in January, after having failed — or, to put it politely, didn’t quite hit the mark. May is the perfect time to start pursuing goals anew and refresh the slate ahead of the summer months, especially if, like me, working out more is a perennial aspiration.
Any psychologist or personal trainer will tell you having a workout buddy is key to setting a new habit. It may be easy to hit the snooze button, but do you really want to leave your friend hanging? Busy work and school schedules can make it hard to sync up with your favorite gym buddy, which is why this treadmill-using orange cat from St. Paul, Minnesota, could be the answer.
I can’t think of a better way to start the day than pedaling on an exercise bike or lifting weights alongside a fluffy companion.
Although when I tried this at home, my cat was much more interested in staring intently at a smudge on the floor before curling up next to the window for a mid-morning nap.
So, results may vary.
