Archstone Entertainment Acquires International Rights to Ron Perlman Horror Film ‘Succubus,’ Vanessa Del Rio Biopic (EXCLUSIVE)
Archstone Entertainment has acquired international rights to multiple pictures produced by the Todd Slater-run Convoke Media and Brick Lane Entertainment.
They include “Succubus,” which was written and directed by R.J. Daniel Hanna (“Hard Miles”) and stars Ron Perlman and Rosanna Arquette. The film follows a new father in a failing marriage who joins a dating app and matches with a beautiful but mysterious woman. He is completely entranced by her allure until her powers of seduction and manipulation entangle him in unexpected ways. The cast also includes Brendan Bradley, Rachel Cook, Olivia Applegate, Derek Smith and Emily Kincaid. Producers are Slater, Ari Novak and Anna Elizabeth James.
Shout! Studios has secured all distribution rights in North America to “Succubus,” including theatrical, digital, video-on-demand and home entertainment for cross-platform releases.
Thomas Mignone’s “Queen of Manhattan” is a biographical drama that tells the true life story of adult star Vanessa Del Rio. Its ensemble includes Esai Morales, Shane West, Drea de Matteo and Jesse Metcalfe. It was produced by Mignone, Yulia Safonova and Slater.
“These are two of the most unique and well-crafted films that I have had the pleasure of being involved with,” Slater said. “Each of the filmmakers carry an incredible voice, and tell a story that audiences will be extremely moved by. I’m very excited to have a partner like Archstone see the international potential of these very different titles. Each one of the films is finalizing or has closed its domestic distribution, and we are excited to introduce them to the world in the very near future.”
“After a year of strikes and studio consolidation, global audiences are hungrier than ever for fresh original independent stories and lucky for us, filmmakers R.J. Daniel Hanna and Thomas Mignone alongside producer Todd Slater have delivered with ‘Succubus’ and ‘Queen of Manhattan,’” Archstone president of worldwide sales and development Jack Sheehan said. “I’m so excited to introduce these two daring, sexy, twisted adventures to our distribution partners in Cannes this week.”
Sheehan negotiated the deal on behalf of Archstone Entertainment, with Slater representing the filmmakers.
