Sky Sports to show Manchester City on final day, Arsenal live on TNT Sports
Sky Sports will show live coverage of Manchester City vs West Ham United on the final day of the Premier League season with Pep Guardiola’s side on the cusp of clinching an eighth title.
The Premier League’s television deal with domestic broadcasters gives Sky Sports first preference on choosing live games.
They have opted to cover defending champions City after their victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening took them two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table with one game left to play.
Guardiola’s side will become the first team in the history of English football to win four consecutive league titles with victory over West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday — regardless of Arsenal’s result.
TNT Sports — who had second choice from the final slate of games — selected Arsenal’s season finale against Everton at the Emirates.
Arsenal can still lift the trophy for the first time in 20 years if they win and City lose or draw at home to West Ham in outgoing David Moyes’ final game as manager.
Mikel Arteta’s side know a draw would still be enough as long second-placed City fail to secure all three points.
This weekend will be only the second time in top-flight history that coverage of the final day of the season will be split between two TV broadcasters.
With the title race wrapped up going into the last weekend in 2023/24, Sky Sports and TNT Sports — formerly known as BT Sport — elected to use their broadcast picks on the battle at the bottom to avoid relegation.
Leeds vs Tottenham Hotspur was shown on BT Sport, while Sky Sports showed live coverage of Everton vs Bournemouth on their main event channel, with viewers able to watch Leicester vs West Ham and Aston Villa vs Brighton on their other football channels.
