Cities of Houghton, Hancock to hold ‘Spring into Summer’ community business event Saturday
HOUGHTON & HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) – The governing bodies of Houghton and Hancock are almost ready for the first-ever ‘Spring into Summer’ event Saturday.
Both entities are working in collaboration with the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and Hancock Business Association for an afternoon on the towns. They all invite the community to check out and support participating businesses on both sides of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge while enjoying ‘food, fun and shopping.’
“It is going to be a beautiful day in the Keweenaw on Saturday,” city of Houghton Community and Business Development Director Amy Zawada wrote. “Flowers are blooming and the leaves have popped. Houghton and Hancock are both vibrant cities and Todd Gast and I are excited to see community members out enjoying what both towns have to offer.”
“All the businesses are very excited to have this ‘Spring into Summer’ event tomorrow,” city of Hancock Downtown Development Director Todd Gast said. “They are looking forward to having more shared events between the cities of Houghton and Hancock. It’s going to be a beautiful day to stroll and visit our local businesses.”
