Shooting Sports banquet

Those taking part in the Jefferson and Harrison County 4-H Shooting Sports Program celebrated their achievements at a banquet with friends and family. This is the first banquet of what officials hope to be many still to come. Through the program, members learn firearm safety protocols and shooting techniques for shotgun, rifle, air gun, muzzle loading and archery. The club held a hunter safety course and went on a field trip to Island Creek Shooting Clays. Those attending included, from left, front, Levi Davis, Lane Keyoski, Angelica Cunningham and Liam Davis; second row, Jason Newburn, Sydney Newburn, Joseph Cunningham and Laken Tanner; and back, Julianna Cunningham, Sage Cunningham, Katie Rivers and Ava Aftanas. The program will return in October and run through May. Anyone interested in joining can contact 4-H program assistant Leslie Aftanas at (740) 264-2212 or 4-H educator Caitlyn Romshak at (740) 942-8823.
