Barbour County health organization offering free physicals for students
PHILIPPI, W.Va. (WDTV) – Barbour Community Health Association is announcing its annual initiative to support the health and well-being of student athletes.
From May 1 through August 30, all BCHA locations will provide free sports physicals for all Barbour County students.
The Belington Medical Clinic, Myers Clinic and both Barbour Quick Care locations will offer the service.
Students interested in participating are encouraged to bring their physical forms with them to help expedite the process, organizers said. Those forms can be obtained from their school Athletic Director.
Officials said the initiative aims to ensure students are adequately prepared for the upcoming sports or band season and plays a crucial role in identifying any underlying health issues to ensure students are in optimal condition to perform at their best.
“We are delighted to offer this service to our community,” said Eric Ruf, CEO at BCHA. “Ensuring the health and safety of our student athletes is paramount, and these free sports physicals provide an excellent opportunity for them to receive the necessary medical clearance before starting their activity in the fall.”
