These streets have been named the most beautiful in the world

At Time Out, we’re big fans of street life – that’s why we publish a big list of the world’s coolest streets every year. And a good-looking street? Even better.

Travel mag Condé Nast Traveller has listed 71 of the prettiest streets on the planet. Some are all cobbled pavements and colourful houses, some have bold architecture and others have a lovely line of blossom trees.

Claiming the top spot for the prettiest street in the whole world are the lanes and alleys which make up Colmar Old Town in France. The architecture here features vibrantly-painted timber houses and little bridges and boats are dotted along the canal – very pretty stuff indeed.

But it’s not all chocolate box village vibes. The streets of Setenil de las Bodegas, a small town between Seville and Malaga, features lovely, pristinely white houses, but they stand out as they’re built into the rocky cliff formations of the region. The Tohid Tunnel in Tehran also makes an appearance, with its symmetrical architecture and mountain views making for quite a striking street.

In the full list, there are entries from London (which you can read about here), Morocco, Cuba and Vietnam, but here are the top 20.
