ETBU softball wins super regional, advances to World Series

MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) – The ETBU Tigers are headed to the Division III World Series following a 10-9 win over Williams College to win their super regional series in two games.

The Tigers scored nine runs in the sixth inning to get the win.

ETBU fell behind in the third inning after giving up four runs. The scored remained 4-0 in favor of Williams until the sixth inning.

In the sixth, Haylie Stum hit a single to bring in Courtney White for the Tigers first run. Later in the inning, Isabella Morales singled to bring in former Eustace Lady Dog Emma Bell and Former Hallsville Lady Cat Madalyn Melton to make it 4-3.

ETBU tied the game at four after a single by Ava Rodriguez, and took the lead on a single by former Elysian Fields Lady Jacket Mary Frances Ellis that brought in Hannah Kelley.

ETBU’s Tristen Maddox and Tauryn Cummings both hit two-run home runs in the nine-run sixth inning.

Williams College scored five in the ninth inning, but ETBU held onto win 10-9 and advance to the Division III World Series.
