Penske Entertainment met with IndyCar’s independent team owners on Thursday to cover a wide range of topics, including the new charter program it has been formulating throughout the year and future engine and chassis strategies that could be implemented as early as 2027.
The meeting was described by multiple team owners as one that was highly encouraging where the group was largely unified with Penske Entertainment on the major items at hand. RACER understands the conversation got heated at times, but the results of the back-and-forth led to good developments and insights for the executive branch that owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the IndyCar Series to use while planning its next moves.
“It was a positive discussion where a number of priorities and upcoming items were discussed,” a Penske Entertainment representative told RACER. “We received some very helpful feedback from the group.”
Although Penske Entertainment is not readying the immediate launch of its charter program, it’s believed to be on target to go live in the coming weeks.
