A network devoted to local high school sports to launch this fall

A new channel will launch later this year in Lafayette that will be devoted to high school sports in Acadiana.

Jay Miller, pastor The Family Church and with Lafayette Christian Academy, spoke with Jan Swift of the Discover Lafayette podcast about KVNTV 19.2 and its accompanying app that is expected to launch Sept. 1.

The network will offer free high-definition broadcasts and be available to up to 300,000 views in the region, Miller said.

An introductory meeting will be held at 10 a.m. June 13 at LCA to discuss the channel and how local schools and coaches can participate while earning money for their schools, he said. Attendees can learn “all things media,” including how to livestream their events, host an interview or podcast show, what equipment to buy and other tips.

LCA and The Family Church already televise its sporting events and church services.
