Fire causes $25,000 damage to business on south edge of downtown Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A fire on Wednesday night caused an estimated $25,000 damage to a business on the south edge of downtown Topeka, authorities said.
The blaze was reported around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dandy Deals second-hand store at 1801 S Kansas Ave.
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the structure and began battling the blaze.
No occupants were located in the structure and no injuries were reported.
A Topeka Fire Department investigator was called to the scene. Officials on Thursday morning said the cause of the fire was undetermined.
Of the estimated $25,000 loss, $15,000 was associated with the building and $10,000 with its contents.
