HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Public Library released its June events slate. The library is at 338 Main St., Huntington.

Event: A Music Legacy: Three Centuries of the African Diaspora with Alexander Wu Trio
Location: Main Auditorium
Date: Saturday, June 1
Time: 2 p.m.
Description: Music of the African diaspora showcases the vast contributions to music by Africans and the descendants of enslaved Africans around the world. Pianist and music arranger, Alexander Wu and his trio bring together tradition and history with its modern-day influence and cultural relevance. A universal celebration of the beauty and diversity of its diasporic music and culture not to be missed. Registration required and open to all.

Event: Acting Your Fitness Age

Event: What Did the Declaration of Independence Actually Declare?

Description: Few documents have had as much impact on world history as the one-page writing that formalized the severing of ties between the American colonies and England. Description: Theater enthusiast Brian Stoll will discuss all things Broadway, beginning with the history and importance of the Playbill, as well as touch upon some of the reasons why audience members choose to collect these memorable theatre keepsakes. Lastly, Brian will share a variety of money-saving tips on how to see Broadway shows for under $60.00 a ticket! Registration required and open to all.

Event: Empire Defensive Driving

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Description: Drivers may reduce up to four points on their driving record or receive a 10 percent discount on vehicle liability, personal injury protection, and collision insurance for three years, and, possibly, a reduction of up to four points on their driving record every 18 months.
In-person registration is required with a non-refundable fee of $30. Checks should be made payable to: Empire Safety Council.

Description: “Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone” with special guest, award-winning author, and stand-up comedian Benjamin Stevenson. Description: “Distributive Justice” (from Collected Papers) by John Rawls (1921-2002). John Rawls was a leading modern political philosopher. In his paper, “Distributive Justice,” Rawls displays his passionate concern with the question of whether a modern democratic society can equitably distribute rights, responsibilities, and resources. Description: Good gardeners know that not every insect in the garden is a pest!
