Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’s Biggest Burning Questions

CBR VIDEO OF THE DAY

SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT

When Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous came to an end, fans were curious if the Nublar Six would be seen again. They got back to America, and in due time, they’d become part of a world where dinosaurs roamed freely. Unfortunately, it’s led to disaster as they got older.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory starts off by killing Brooklynn six years later. It threw her friends into a major scandal involving a smuggling ring. Luckily, they’ve escaped unscathed after Season 1, but there are many questions and important threads left hanging overhead.

10 Why Did Brooklynn Stay ‘Dead’?

The Chaos Theory Season 1 ending confirms Brooklynn is alive. She lost her arm in the allosaurus attack, but she has been hiding out, working on the ring. The show, however, needs to explain why she hasn’t contacted her friends. She should know they’d investigate and put themselves in danger. Even her Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW) contact, Ronnie, knows Darius is on the case.

Brooklynn may have good intentions, but by staying in the shadows, she’s letting her friends pursue the truth and almost getting themselves killed. It begs the question of whether or not she’s being selfish as she pursues her journalistic career? She could have used their help while keeping them far enough to avoid trouble. The fact that she knows they’d show concern for her feels like she isn’t a considerate friend.

10 Coolest Dinosaur Scenes in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

Before Jurassic World: Chaos Theory hits Netflix, Jurassic fans should revisit these coolest dinosaur scenes from Camp Cretaceous.

The gang learns that Brooklynn was working with Kenji’s sinister father, Daniel Kon. They stopped him from kidnapping dinosaurs from Isla Nublar in Camp Cretaceous. But, for whatever reason, Brooklynn felt he was a good business partner while he did time in jail. The crew is curious as to why she’d align herself with him.

Season 2 of Chaos Theory has to address whether she did this to get closer to the ring. However, this would mean Brooklynn traded dinosaurs on the black market, effectively setting up a major arc over her shadiness and what she’s willing to do just to create content and expose crime. With the ring killing Daniel, one has to wonder about the truth of anything Brooklynn would say.

8 What Is Ronnie’s Big Plan?

Ronnie calls Brooklynn in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

Ronnie mentored Darius at a point, so to know he’d go on the trail of Brooklynn, yet not warn him, is very selfish. Ronnie and Brooklynn know someone set the latter up, so it would have made sense to warn Darius. It might be that Ronnie wants to remain hidden to expose who else in the DPW is corrupt.

Ronnie has a lot to answer for, especially with so many DPW agents being covert smugglers. Conversely, it would be a huge swerve if she was deceiving Brooklynn in the partnership to cover her own tracks. This DPW drama is very unpredictable, with many people hiding skeletons in their closets.

7 Is Mateo a True Ally?

Mateo helps Darius in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

It’s very obvious the DPW agents can’t be trusted. Many of them are collecting dinosaurs, but instead of placing them in regulated eco-zones, they’re saying they died and selling them on the black market. Mateo was one of the drivers who felt guilty, and began working with Darius’ crew.

He helped smuggle because he needed money for his daughter. But he conveniently shows up to help the heroes, such as with the evil DPW agent, Cabrera. Somehow, villains end up dying and the heroes need rescuing when Mateo is around. It might be Mateo is lying and that he is infiltrating the “Camp Fam” himself. He’s very suspicious, so his true allegiance needs to be brought to light soon.

10 Ways Jurassic Park Fans Are Missing Out by Skipping Camp Cretaceous

With Jurassic World: Chaos Theory about to debut on Netflix, Jurassic Park fans shouldn’t skip out on its predecessor, Camp Cretaceous.

The Whistle Woman uses her whistle to control a pack of atrociraptors to hunt the teenagers. She fled Cabrera’s base in the Chaos Theory Season 1 ending. Notably, she does love her dinosaurs. They’re more than pets, however, as she sees them as her children — nodding to Owen and Blue from the Jurassic World movies.

With the Camp Cretaceous episodes using mind-control technology to brainwash dinosaurs, it has fans wondering if the Whistle Woman can control other dinosaurs. Her using a T-Rex, for example, would be quite intimidating. She has that mastermind energy, so this will be answered when she runs into the teenagers on her boss’ boat again.

5 Who is The Mysterious Broker?

The Whistle Woman and her agents killed Cabrera for being too arrogant. They answer to a mysterious boss known as the Broker. In time, they get on his ship to take the stolen dinosaurs to a hidden lair. Diehards have been speculating as to who the Broker is.

Some think this show is a prequel to Jurassic World Dominion, where Soyona Santos helped run a black market ring in Malta. The Chaos Theory finale mentions Malta as a possible destination. Plus, fans would recall Soyona used a laser pointer to control her raptor pack. It may be that Soyona is indeed the Broker who mentoring this whistler.

4 Does Brooklynn Love Darius?

Kenji and Darius look shocked in Jurassic World Chaos Theory

With Brooklynn alive, Chaos Theory sets her up to resolve her love triangle. Kenji broke up with her because she was too obsessed with the Dark Jurassic website and conspiracy theories. By contrast, Darius abandoned her because she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. It has fans wondering if Brooklynn really loves Darius and if he was over-thinking things.

The fact she wanted him on her investigative mission rather than the others says a lot. It will add drama to the group, because Kenji would surely want to rekindle things if he knows she’s alive. But given how loyal, accepting, caring and understanding Darius was to her on the island, Brooklynn may have a shocker in store in this coming-of-age story. It would add tension, conflict and teenage angst in a relatable, understandable way.

How Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Connects to the Movies

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous takes place about the same time as the movies, while making several references to the whole franchise.

Darius isn’t speaking to his mother, Mrs. Bowman, at all. His brother, Brandon, couldn’t convince him to make amends. Even Kenji — who they adopted — berates Darius for being so mean to his mother. This is a very intriguing thread because she was so grateful he came back home. This avoidance can’t be over his father’s death, as that happened years ago.

There is an unknown variable in play as to why he’d abandon his mother. Some fans suspect it has something to do with Brooklynn, but only time will tell. Darius knows the value of losing a parent, so this is a very quaint thread to have looming overhead.

2 Does Ben Really Have a Girlfriend?

Ben stands petrified as a velociraptor stlalks him in Jurassic World Chaos Theory

Ben tells Sammy that he has a girlfriend, but the show treats it as comedic relief. It’s a running joke all season long. It adds humor, but there is one important thing to note. Ben has gotten a major glow-up, turning into a hunk.

This is an angle fans are keeping close watch on. He’s still paranoid, strange and not that cool. He also gives bad advice on relationships. It feels very similar to Dustin and Suzie from Netflix’s Stranger Things, which could end with the clumsy Ben shocking everyone with his significant other after matriculating from adolescence into adulthood.

1 Does Ben Fully Trust Sammy?

Sammy stands in between Darius and Ben in Jurassic World Chaos Theory

Ben did his own sleuthing, trying to figure out who killed Brooklynn. He pointed to Sammy as a suspect. Sammy was upset to hear this, but she was a spy who lied to the gang on the island. Sammy needed money to keep her family’s estate, so she tried to steal secrets for Mantah Corp.

It’s a spy arc the Jurassic Park movies explored with Dennis Nedry stealing from Dr. John Hammond’s labs. Now, Sammy has matured and even helped take care of Bumpy the ankylosaurus on her estate. While Ben assuages her concerns and lets her know he does think of her as a sister, there is part of him that is cynical. If he doesn’t fully trust her, there could be more infighting in Season 2.
