Company investing  million in region

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – A manufacturer is establishing operations and investing $25 million in Greenup County.

Judge Executive Bobby Hall announced Thursday that Wurtland Oil Works, LLC is moving to the old Pregis Plant on Harris Road.

Wurtland Oil Works makes lubricants utilized in various industries including industrial transport, rail transport and maritime operations.

Judge Hall said, “The creation of 75 new jobs will have a profound impact on our residents. The new jobs will provide much-needed income and stability for our families, while also stimulating our local economy with increased consumer spending.

Hall said it shows the company’s decision to locate in Greenup County shows confidence in the community and workforce.

The hiring process and opening date not yet determined, since the papers were just signed on Thursday.

The company will update the facility for its manufacturing needs.
