Shockwave kicks off aqua fitness season at Shawnee North Aquatic Center

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Aqua fitness classes are returning to Shawnee North Family Aquatic Center!

Sharlie Peterson with Shockwave Fitness also is back to teach them. Shockwave partners with Shawnee Co. Parks + Rec to offer the outdoor sessions.

Sharlie said aqua fitness is a great option for people of all fitness levels since it is lower-impact. She says the resistance of the water can offer a high-intensity workout and, since it’s held in shallow water, no advanced swimming ability is required.

The Aqua Fitness Kickoff Class is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Shawnee North Aquatic Center. The classes cost $10 for a single drop-in, or $50 for a monthly pass. The monthly option is good for either the outdoor aqua classes or the indoor offerings at Shockwave’s studio inside West Ridge Mall.
