Comedy actor front-runners discuss their shows in Emmys roundtable

“The Bear” took home the top prize for best comedy at the 2023 Primetime Emmys — and it’s one of the top contenders for a repeat.

However, awards experts say it will get some pressure from other hit series such as “Hacks,” “Palm Royale” and “Abbott Elementary.”

Some of the stars of these shows — Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”), J.B. Smoove (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”), Daniel Ings (“The Gentlemen”), Heidi Gardner (“Saturday Night Live”) and Josh Lucas (“Palm Royale”) — recently sat down with Los Angeles Times’ Lorraine Ali for “The Envelope Roundtables.”
