‘Suits’ actor Patrick J. Adams says reunion movie is ‘possible’ and its creator is ‘definitely’ interested
“Suits” actor Patrick J. Adams said that a reunion movie has been discussed, and the show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, is “definitely” interested in bringing it to life.
The legal drama, which ran for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019, revolves around Mike Ross, a Harvard Law School dropout with a photographic memory. He lands a job at a prestigious law firm in New York, under hotshot lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).
During a “Suits” reunion panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin on Sunday, cast members were asked if they’d ever reprise their roles in a reunion movie, Variety reported.
Adams said: “I am a person of no power or authority, but obviously, there’s a ‘Suits: LA’ show that is being made. That is the focus of Aaron, I think he would agree.
“But it’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together. So it depends on a million things if that can happen, but is it possible? I think it is possible.”
Adams later added: “This band member is down.”
“Suits” was successful enough to run for nine seasons. The cast included Meghan Markle as one of the main characters, paralegal Rachel Zane. However, she left at the end of season seven when she turned away from acting after getting engaged to Prince Harry in 2018.
After “Suits” ended in 2019, it had a resurgence when it was added to Netflix and subscribers discovered the show. Its audience continued to grow, and it later became Netflix’s most-watched show of 2023.
As mentioned, Korsh is working on a new spinoff series titled “Suits: LA.” In February, Deadline confirmed that “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell will lead the show as Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor whose firm is at a “crisis point” in Los Angeles.
At the 2024 Golden Globes, Adams told Entertainment Tonight he’d like to return to play Mike in the spinoff, although this hasn’t been confirmed.
“I would jump in there. I’ll do whatever they want. Whatever the fans want, I’m there. I love this role. I love the world. I love everybody involved,” he said.
