Locke’s collection is curated to match the vibrancy and elegance of the Belmont Stakes, she said. The event is all about standing out while maintaining a touch of sophistication, she said.

Sometimes it is good to start with the accessories and then move on to finding a dress, she said. It is difficult to find a hat that fits, so it may be best to find one that is comfortable and looks good.

“Buying the hat first is not a bad thing, because we can even suggest colors that go with it,” she said.
