P360 Performance Sports Complex breaks ground in Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) -The offseason is the perfect time for athletes to train and get ready for the next season and a new sports complex in Ocean Springs will help do just that.

Monday ground broke on a new P360 Performance Sports Complex near the Ocean Springs Sports Complex on Highway 57.

Through the Snopek Baseball Group and Mississippi Matrix Volleyball, the 32,000 square foot complex will features batting cages, pitching mounds, four volleyball courts, as well as a dedicated fitness and training area for all athletes, among other features.

Project officials say they’re excited to see what the facility can bring to coast athletes as they continue to grow.

“For the community it gives them a home base and they know where they’re going to train outside of their house or wherever,” said President and CEO of P360 Performance Sports Chris Snopek. “But I think you’ll see a big impact for the community over the next ten years.”

”It allows for us to serve more kids,” said P360 Performance Sports Gulf Coast Director Sean Steverson. “That’s the goal for us to impact more kids and this allows us to do that.”

“We’re all business people here and we see the need,” said project facilitator Gregg Descher. “We’ve all had kids growing up and playing baseball and volleyball and all the sports here on the coast. As we traveled to other places we said, ‘Why don’t we have that opportunity for our kids here?’ and that’s where it came from.”

Construction is set to start in the early fall and officials hope to open the doors in early 2025
