Jefferson Fridays return with food, music, and late-night shopping

Jefferson Fridays will make its return to Moundsville for the summer season this week.

The event is staged by the Moundsville Arts & Culture Commission and sponsored by Unified Bank.

Jefferson Fridays is a block party on Jefferson Avenue between Second and Third streets. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, and a performance by Taylor Joe & the Copper Creek band.

The event will be from 6:15-10 p.m. Local businesses will be able to stay open later and all ages are able to attend.

“We wanted to do it right in the heart of Moundsville, which is our historic business district and to be able to have some of the businesses stay open later for shopping,” Mayor Sara Wood-Shaw said. “It’s really important that the city and our commission host these types of events for community members to come out and spend time together, spend time with their families.”

Jefferson Fridays will happen once a month until August.
