Jurassic World 4 gets a new story update that teases a return to the franchise’s Jurassic Park roots. After two sequels to Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster classic, the hit dinosaur franchise was rebooted in 2015, introducing audiences to Chris Pratt’s Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire. The confirmed Jurassic World 4 is now moving forward, with Scarlett Johansson set to star opposite Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, and Jonathan Bailey, among others, with Gareth Edwards directing what has been described as something of a soft reboot for the franchise.
Now, a new report from Variety reveals that Jurassic World 4 will feature a premise similar to that of Jurassic Park. The new film has been touted as “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island.” The report also notes that the film has been referred to both as “Jurassic World 4″ and “Jurassic City,” suggesting a title change could be on the way. The upcoming sequel is now also set to shoot in Thailand, Malta and the U.K.
