Each College World Series team’s most important player, from Florida’s Jac Caglianone to UVA’s Griff O’Ferrall
It’s been more than a decade since the NCAA Tournament produced a College World Series group of eight as highly-ranked as the 2024 field, which includes seven top-16 teams: No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 North Carolina, No. 8 Florida State, No. 10 NC State and No. 12 Virginia.
Florida, which was a three-seed in the Stillwater Regional, is the lone unranked team in the final eight, though it’s won six of seven in the tournament, including a Super Regional sweep of No. 6 Clemson.
With so many top teams set to square off in Omaha (the opening round of games start Friday), there is no shortage of exciting individual talents — some of whom are top prospects for the upcoming MLB Draft — and other unexpected postseason heroes who have made a great impact on their team in recent weeks.
