College World Series 2024: Picks, predictions for NCAA baseball championship

The national championship is up for grabs at the 2024 College World Series, and the trophy will go either to the SEC or ACC as those power conferences make up the entire eight-team field. No. 1 overall seed Tennessee headlines the remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and is one of seven national seeds to punch its ticket to Omaha, while Florida represents the only squad outside of the top 16 to advance through the super regional round.

For the most part, favorites cruised through the first two rounds of the postseason. In a sport with tremendous parity, though, perhaps the final stage of the tournament will finally provide the significant upsets so often associated with college baseball’s unpredictable postseason.

Many of the top prospects in this summer’s MLB Draft are already out of title contention, but with Florida’s Jac Caglianone, Texas A&M’s Ryan Prager and others still alive, the national title will almost certainly run through one of the sport’s biggest stars.
