Job seekers attend hiring event for Bay District Schools
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Job seekers gathered in Panama City for a two-part hiring event for Bay District Schools on Wednesday. A dozen schools and offices participated in the event at the Nelson Building, looking to fill various open positions.
The job fair was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on instructional employees, such as classroom and resource teachers. The second session catered to support employees, including bus drivers, paraprofessionals, and receptionists.
Bay District Schools officials emphasized their search for qualified candidates who are passionate about working with children.
“We want people who love children, love young people, and want to see them succeed and can see their potential,” said Darnita Rivers, Assistant Principal of Oscar Patterson Academy. “The hires that we got today were actually people who demonstrated those things. They were qualified and had the educational background as well as the educational experience. But also, their passion for the youth and for young people came through.”
BDS officials expressed satisfaction with the turnout. Several schools filled all of their vacancies, while others made significant progress in their hiring efforts.
If you missed the job fair, don’t worry. Bay District Schools will continue hiring throughout the summer. More information is available on their website: Careers | Bay District Schools
