Proactive leadership and strategic planning will help mitigate the business disruption caused by the “Pandora’s box” of data breaches facing healthcare companies, according to a new white paper from cybersecurity solutions firm Celerium.

Data breaches are increasing, often leaving executives to feel as if they must choose between protecting patient privacy and protecting business continuity, the authors said.

Advocate for safe-harbor provisions. “Regulators and Congress should formally review this difficult issue and consider creating safe-harbor provisions,” according to the paper.

The white paper is available for download on the Celerium website.
