Four players in the 2024 CWS started their careers at another school in the field.

Joe Charles, RHP, Florida State (from North Carolina): Charles appeared in a career-high 29 games in 2024, his third season with the Seminoles. He is 1-0 with a 6.52 ERA in 29.0 innings. He started his career at North Carolina but pitched in only three games, in 2020, with the Tar Heels.

Hollis Fanning, RHP, NC State (from Tennessee): Fanning spent three seasons with the Vols, appearing in 24 games with 20.1 innings pitched. In his lone season at NC State, he is 2-1 with a 7.41 ERA in 17 innings out of the bullpen.

Robert Hogan, RHP, Kentucky (from Texas A&M): Hogan has been a key arm out of the Wildcats bullpen, with a 2.58 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 38 1/3 innings and 22 appearances. He played his first two seasons at Texas A&M and had a 7.86 ERA in 33 appearances.

Cannon Peebles, C, Tennessee (from NC State): Peebles was one of the big gets out of the transfer portal after hitting .352 with 12 home runs and 50 RBIs as a freshman at NC State in 2023. He hasn’t been as productive with the Volunteers, hitting only .227 with two home runs and 24 RBIs while playing in 50 games with 28 starts.
