Sporting KC player previously suspended for gambling violations placed on leave again

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – In October 2021, Sporting KC midfielder Felipe Hernandez was suspended for the remainder of the season after being accused of violating Major League Soccer’s gambling integrity rules and standards of conduct.

It appears he is in hot water over again over the same allegation.

Sporting KC announced on Friday morning that Hernandez was placed on administrative leave after a report that the player “violated the league’s gambling policies, as well as the terms” of when he was reinstated in 2022.

The forward from Colombia signed with Sporting KC as a Homegrown Player in August 2019. He has appeared in eight games this season.
