Tri-State business asking for help finding stolen truck

BROMLEY, Ky. (WXIX) – A business in Northern Kentucky is asking for help finding their stolen tow truck.

Larry Hamant, who owns Hamant Auto Body and Cycle, said their tow truck was stolen last week. He said the business is suffering a 30 percent loss in income.

“I don’t want to go back in debt for $40,000,” Hamant said. “I’m 78 years old and I don’t want to go back in debt.”

On June 7, Hamant said his son called. He told him their flatbed tow truck was missing. He filed a police report and began asking neighbors if they saw anything.

“We have a lady who lives in a trailer back here,” Hamant said. “She says she saw a yellowish light of some sort at 1:30 a.m. and we don’t know if that was tied to this or not.”

Hamant said if the person who stole it brought it back, he would even pay them.

“If whoever took it brings the son of a gun back to me I’ll give them $500 for my truck back,” Hamant said. “No ifs or buts.

“I work too hard for my money. Like I said, I’m 78 years old. I was in the service for two years. I went to Vietnam. Fought for this country and I’d like to have some respect.”
