Katy (Harris County) — A baseball-themed sports bar, restaurant and entertainment venue that has been a hit with locals that it will expand operations.

Home Run Dugout has announced plans to expand its Katy location by infusing $2.7 million into a project that will expand its 46,000 square-feet facility by 9,200 square-feet.

The restaurant opened operations in March of 2023 and became the first full- scale standalone Home Run Dugout venue. The first Home Run Dugout opened in Round Rock in 2019.

The venue is akin to Top Golf, but with baseball experience.

The Home Run Dugout expansion project includes adding 10 new bays and a new building that can accommodate large gatherings, including corporate events, birthday parties, graduation celebrations and client entertainment.

The entertainment facility is located at 1220 Grand West Boulevard and features 12 indoor Batting Bays that allow players to simulate batting in any MLB stadium, a full-service restaurant and two bars.

The expansion will be located on the north side of the venue, behind the Biergarten Baseball field, with an expected completion date of summer 2024.

“The Katy community and the entire Houston area has been incredible to us over the past year,” said Tyler Bambrick, Home Run Dugout CEO. “One of our biggest takeaways from our first year of business was the need for additional batting bays to give groups a chance to experience the essence of Home Run Dugout. The new bays paired with additional event-hosting space will give that many more people the opportunity to experience the fun of HRD.”
