A Colorado sports feast: Saturday packed with football as Broncos, Rams, Buffs all play
Don’t leave any chores to be done Saturday.
Prep for the New Year’s party can wait.
Saturday is a couch day. Hope you’re not too full from the holidays, because this is a feast.
Prepare to gorge on an epic Colorado sports day.
This is a big one. Here are the key events as Deion Sanders and the CU Buffs, Jay Norvell and the CSU Rams, and Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos all play (all times listed below are Mountain) on Dec. 28.
Colorado State men’s basketball vs New Mexico
The first big local sports event of the day. The Rams look for a 2-0 start in Mountain West against one of the top contenders for the league crown. CSU moved this game up an hour to allow for a watch party at Moby Arena for the bowl game after hoops.

Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl: Colorado State football vs Miami (Ohio)
The Colorado State football team is back in the postseason for the first time since 2017. What a way to re-enter bowls than with the first edition of the Snoop Dogg-sponsorship of the bowl. Crack a “Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop” and get the football started.
Time: 2:30 p.m.

Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals
Have the clicker handy because the Broncos and Rams are at the same time. Denver is seeking its long-awaited return to the playoffs. A win over Cincinnati and Denver makes the playoffs. This is a big one and got flexed into Saturday.

Valero Alamo Bowl: Colorado football vs BYU
Right about the time Rams and Broncos finish their games, the Buffs will get going in an all Big 12 showdown. It’s the first bowl game for Deion Sanders leading CU and the final game as Buffs for Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and star QB Shedeur Sanders.
Time: 5:30 p.m.

Denver Nuggets vs Detroit Pistons
And the end-of-the-day night cap. The Nuggets host the Pistons. While not as big a game as some of the others above, a chance to watch Nikola Jokic as he has another historic season is never a bad thing!
