Along with ayahuasca resorts in Costa Rica and ketamine retreats in California, The Journeymen Collective is part of a new frontier of high-end travel combining psychedelic journeys with luxury accommodations. Founded by Gary Logan and Robert Grover, the Journeymen Collective opened its multimillion-dollar estate in Canada’s Okanagan Valley in 2018 to offer guided experiences with psilocybin, more commonly known as “magic mushrooms.” Psychedelic mushrooms have been studied for their ability to treat depression and PTSD, but Logan and Grover work with many entrepreneurs and executives, and see them benefiting anyone who wants to bring their career or personal life to new heights. “When you’re going on a ‘retreat,’ that means after a week you’ll just return to your old way of being,” Logan says of the Journeymen experience, which costs about $15,000 for five days. “Here you are taking lessons back with you to make permanent changes in your life.”

Uber Safari Launches in South Africa

Uber has rescued many stranded passengers in urban jungles around the world. Now the ride-share giant is expanding its service to include day-trip safaris in Africa. As part of its “Go Anywhere” program, Uber Safari will transport riders from Cape Town to the South African wilderness for a big five safari (elephants, rhinos, lions, African buffalo and leopards) just a few hours’ drive from the city. Best of all is the price—a $200 flat fee for up to four passengers.
