A sports bar and restaurant in Fayetteville closed down permanently on Skibo road
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville closed its doors this month, according to a sign posted on the Skibo Road restaurant’s door.
The Louisiana-based chain opened its first sports bar and cajun restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before expanding into the North Carolina market by opening at 2116 Skibo Road in Fayetteville in 2019.
“We are writing to you with a heavy heart to announce that Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux … has closed its doors for the last time,” the sign on the door said. Radio station WKML reported the sign first appeared on the door May 8, and it was still present Monday.
The sign also said, “We are sad to say goodbye to this location. Thank you for being part of our journey … We look forward to your continued support at our other locations.”
The Fayetteville restaurant is now permanently closed, with the closest location in Wilmington, according to the sign on the door.
Walk-On’s corporate office confirmed the location’s closure via email Tuesday and said, “At this time, we have not been provided a reason for the closure.”
The property owners did not respond to email or calls Monday. The location is no longer on the corporate website, though mention of it can be found in the career section but the link is dead. Attempts to reach out to a former employee were unsuccessful. The Fayetteville store’s Facebook page is also unavailable when checked Friday.
The Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville appears as permanently closed on Google.
