A University of Vermont MBA program ranks #2 in the world: Here’s the degree
The University of Vermont’s Grossman School of Business fared well in the Corporate Knights 2024 Better World MBA ranking, jumping from 5th in the world last year to 2nd this year, and taking the #1 spot in the United States.
Every year, Corporate Knights issues its annual ranking of the world’s most sustainable MBA programs. The media and research organization was founded in 2002 to advance an economic system “in which both people and the planet can survive,” according to its website.
Corporate Knights magazine is published quarterly and focuses on climate change, responsible investing, and “the ideas, actions and innovations that shape a sustainable economy.” It has a circulation of 126,000 and is distributed in The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
Think sustainability in everything you do as a business person
This marks the seventh consecutive year that the Grossman School’s Sustainable Innovation MBA (SI-MBA) has been in the top 10 of the Better World rankings, returning to the top spot domestically after being ranked #1 in the United States in 2019. The accelerated one-year program focuses on teaching graduates how to manage and transform businesses by “embedding sustainability in their operations,” according to a news release. Conventional MBA programs typically require two years to complete.
“We set out to educate business leaders for the future, and as the prestigious Corporate Knights ranking has repeatedly recognized, we have built the best sustainability-focused MBA programs in the world,” Dean Sanjay Sharma said in a statement.
To determine its ranking, Corporate Knights evaluated 174 business schools around the world, drawn from a variety of sources, including the most recent Financial Times list of the top 100 global MBA programs and The Princeton Review Best Green MBA list.
