AARP holding fashion show fundraiser for local students

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Fashion Influencer Wilma Bynum and Model Sparkle Champagne joined us in the studio today to talk about AARP #4879’s upcoming fashion show fundraiser.

Bynum said the annual event will last from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 9 and will be held at the River Bend Nature Center Pavilion on 2200 Third Street.

The greenery and environment of the venue will match the fashion show’s theme: “Safaria,” featuring designs by Dress Unique Boutique.

Champagne said this is her second year walking in the fashion show, and that she is excited to be able to show off Bynum’s designs again.

Audience members can expect giveaways, food, accessible parking, vendors and more. Proceeds raised will go towards a college fund for local high school students.

From Bynum’s designs, visitors can expect contrast between vintage and African styles, as demonstrated by the outfits she and Champagne wore to the studio.

Guests are requested to wear cool and classy attire; no jeans will be allowed.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children. Bulk tickets can also be bought at $200 for an eight-seat table.
