Acasia Damya Henry would like to see a career in the worlds of music and acting and is working hard to make that future a reality.

She is currently enrolled in Benjamin Franklin High School and is a classical vocal music student at NOCCA. This summer, she will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Vocal Arts Camp.

“Casie” is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lionel Henry Sr. Her mother is the former Stacy Marie Coleman.

At Franklin, she was recently honored as a Magna Cum Laude Latin scholar for her achievement on the National Latin Examination. During her senior year, she will compete in speech and debate tournaments.

At NOCCA, Casie is a member of the school’s Black Culture Club.

She has also worked as a junior lifeguard for the New Orleans Recreation Department, in the local movie theater industry and in childcare at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church.

As a debutante, she will be presented during the Carnival 2025 season at the ball of the Young Men Illinois Club.
