Addison Rae and Other Stars Lead Marcel Proust-Inspired Campaign for Saint Laurent
When working on his latest campaign for Saint Laurent, creative director Anthony Vaccarello turned to founder Yves Saint Laurent’s favorite book—In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust—as inspiration.
The result? A new series of short films titled “As Time Goes By,” directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and featuring an impressive roster of stars, including Addison Rae, Joey King, Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Waters, Cooper Koch, Travis Bennett, and more.
According to a press release, these films “[capture] the essence of Proust’s narrative with an auteurist eye and unique sense,” with recurring themes of love, togetherness, dreaming, desire, time, and memory.
The first couple installments have already been released, and the remaining short films will be unveiled over the coming days.
Telfar to Open First Brick-and-Mortar Store in New York City
Despite crafting the famous “Bushwick Birkin,” Telfar’s first brick-and-mortar store will actually be landing in Manhattan at 408 Broadway, with an opening date of Saturday, November 23.
Fashion fans have been waiting quite some time for a physical Telfar store, given that the brand always manages to sell out its new shopper bag in minutes. And for this exciting debut, the brand is sparing no detail, with an opening party that is set to feature performances, interactive experiences, and more.
However, due to the large demand, the label cheekily asked followers not to shop up on opening day. One Instagram post stated, “STARTING THIS SATURDAY, TELFAR NEW YORK FLAGSHIP is OPEN but DONT COME!! 😂— ON OPENING DAY. WE’RE OPEN FOREVER 🖤.”
Even if Telfar devotees aren’t able to make it to the store’s opening, there will be plenty of new things to enjoy at the store from here on forward, from a “Bag Bar” to screens playing “Telfar TV” and more. The new space will be open Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Nearly 40-Year-Old Art Carnival ‘Luna Luna’ Makes Its Big Apple Debut
Dalí. Basquiat. Delaunay. Haring. Lichtenstein. Hockney. Thirty-seven years ago, these inimitable artists and more teamed up to create the world’s first art amusement park—an attraction in Hamburg, Germany where visitors could enjoy rides and games that were like playful pieces of art. Curated by André Heller, the park was deemed “Luna Luna.” But then, it got sealed away in shipping containers and largely forgotten, until it was unveiled for the first time in decades earlier this year.
While “Luna Luna” was first reopened in Los Angeles, it has now made its way to New York City, where “Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy” is being held at The Shed, from November 20 until January 5, 2025.
To celebrate the show’s Big Apple unveiling, there was a party held at The Shed, which was co-hosted by Luna Luna partners Michael Goldberg, Anthony Gonzales, and Jacob Cohl. Guests at the event included Lauren Santo Domingo, Karlie Kloss, David Byrne, Paloma Elsesser, Iris Law, and more. You can get tickets to experience the art amusement park here.
MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr. Martens Unveil First Footwear Collaboration
On November 19, the first capsule collection between MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr. Martens was unveiled, with a series of designs that fuse the unusual approach of the former and the classic silhouettes of the latter.
These pieces debuted as part of MM6 Maison Margiela’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, and the collection sees the reinvention of four different Dr. Martens styles: the Original 1460 boot, the extra tall 1490 boot, the 1461 shoe, and the Penton loafer. You can shop the pieces here.
Rosé Becomes the New Face of Puma’s Speedcat Shoe
While they’ve been accruing chart-topping albums for years, the members of Blackpink have also quietly been dominating the fashion world, with ambassadorships and front-row appearances at every turn. Now, that reign continues, as Rosé was just named the new face of Puma’s Speedcat sneaker.
The Speedcat was pulled from the Puma archives earlier this summer, in honor of the shoe’s 25th anniversary. In a new campaign, Rosé models the footwear in front of a scenic desert backdrop, while rocking a racing-style jacket and knee pads.
This campaign arrives ahead of the release of new Speedcat colorways—in red, black, and pink—which will become available to shop starting December 5. You can pick up a pair here.
