AFD investigating fire at Westgate Shopping Center

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – The Alexandria Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out Monday afternoon at the Westgate Shopping Center on MacArthur Drive.

Details are limited at this time. KALB spoke with AFD Fire Chief Sam Allen, who said they currently do not know how the fire started. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire was in an empty building between Dollar General and the Jackson Hewitt, near Auto Zone in the shopping center.
