After more than 27 years in business this Durham restaurant is closing
After 27 years in business, Blue Corn Cafe in Durham will be closing its doors in downtown Durham this weekend.
Owners Danielle and Antonio Rios made the announcement via social media, noting that the space on Ninth Street would become a new restaurant, Nepalese Fusion.
“We are excited for the culinary creativity and delicious food they will bring to this neighborhood. They like Antonio and I are family and community-oriented, ” Danielle Rios wrote on the business’ Facebook page.
Blue Corn Cafe’s will close on Dec. 21.
Rios stressed that this wasn’t “a farewell” but a “transformation.” She urged people to follow them on social media for updates on their travels, creations and what’s cooking, adding that they will continue to offer personal chef services and catering.
“Durham, you have given us so much more than we could have ever imagined. You embraced us and our dream, allowing us to create and thrive in this vibrant city. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye to this chapter, we are excited to explore new culinary adventures and share food in fresh and inspiring ways,” Rios wrote.
